Matt Godfrey and Emily Sutton-Smith narrate an anthology of 13 stories about dark deeds that transpire after the midnight hour. Topics range from an FBI agent who is tracking a copycat killer to the dangers of mobile phones. That standout starts with a reporter answering a phone call from a potential mass shooter and ends with a bang. Godfrey and Sutton-Smith take turns narrating. Godfrey nails a variety of accents, giving dynamic and attention-grabbing performances throughout his stories. Sutton-Smith adopts a controlled yet sultry voice that feels perfectly suited for the after-dark settings of her stories. Each work is the perfect duration to be enticing, making it difficult to stop listening until one has heard them all. J.M.M. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine
